Canberra MTB Trail Guide up and running!

Alrighty then! If you've visited the site over the last couple of days, you might have noticed that we have finally updated some of the oldish pictures on the opening screen, plus the Trail Guide area of the site is finally up and running!!! Check it out here.
There are a few clips up there now, and over the next few months we'll slowly fill in the rest of the site to cover all the major riding areas in Canberra (plus some other locations nearby!) There will also be a lot of extra info here for out of towners, including more detailed trail maps, amenities at each location, times/distances to get there, and detailed trail descriptions.
So stay tuned and check back regularly!
A big thanks to Al for making the necessary changes to get this up and running too.

In case you've been living under a rock for the past 6 months or so, you would have noticed the new line of mountain bikes at Lonsdale St Cyclery.
PIVOT BIKES are a revolutionary new player in the high end performance category of dual suspension mountain biking. The current range on offer varies form XC race through to 'all mountain' (quite a hefty mountain!), with a 29'er and women's specific model as well.
The build quality and attention to detail of the frames is amazing, and screams durability. A fair number of unique and specific design features back this up.
The rear suspension design is quite revolutionary in that it performs so well without the requirement of a platform rear shock. Rear end stiffness and power transfer while pedalling and cornering is unparalleled, with no compromise in suspension performance when it is needed through the rough stuff. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!! 1st PLACE AT THE SCOTT 24 HOUR!!! 33 LAPS!
What a result! A fantastic effort by the team - Trevor Rix, James Downing, Allan Seiper, Will Bowron, Joel Stewart and Jon Harris. Not only did they smash the competition in the 6 man category to win by around a lap and a half, they snuck into 4th fastest place overall out of everyone on the mountain!!!! Awesome work guys!
Interestingly enough, the fastest lap pumped out by our team was done by Joel - not back for a track cyclist on a borrowed bike! Also well done to Cam - he and his brother Stew cranked out an impressive 25 laps between them for team Data Flow, coming 11th in the Marathon Pairs Male.
What an event. 24 hour races are like nothing else - from the hardcore racers roaring around the circuit, to the drunken camp dwellers who are just out for a bit f fun, to the eerie, lonely 3am laps - it is definitely something to be experienced at least once in every mountain bikers life.
A huge thanks to CORC for organising the event so well, and to all the event sponsors.

We have just unleashed a new section of our 'online presence' here at Lonsdale St. We have taken it upon ourselves to provide the public with a first person view of some of the best local trails around Canberra, filmed with a high quality Helmet Cam! We will be providing you with maps, details, and video of lots of trails, plus bonus footage every now and then of our staff members racing at various events. The 'Ride Guide' will update incrementally, but for now we have got some footage from last night's City Criterium just to give you a taste of what to expect...

We are now proud to be carrying a new line of bikes by the Italian brand, Masi.
These guys have been in the road cycling game for quite some time, and have built up a deserved reputation of producing well made quality bicycles.
